Head showing missing cabinet doors. |
Alternative materials were considered for use, but in the end it was much easier to construct new cabinet doors out of existing marine plywood and then paint them to match. The doors where cut and routered so that they fit into the recessed space allowing for 1/4" outer edge space. The corner radius was marked out using the diameter of a spray paint(It was handy and just right).
The doors were sanded and coated with thinned epoxy. Once the epoxy cured, the doors were cleaned, lightly sanded again and painted with Interlux Brightsides. After an additional light sanding and some spot putty work, the doors were painted with Rust-Oleum satin Almond spray paint.
